There's nothing wrong with that, only that the songs tend to sound a tad too similar.
In my opinion, there are two big downers on this demo.
One: The singer sounds like a constipated bison on some sort of laxative drug. The funny thing with Last to remain, is that the background singers do a much better job than the lead singer. He's no longer with the band though.
Two: The mix on the album is awful, seeing that the vocals are too much in front, nearly drowning out the rest of the music.
In conclusion; this is average hardcore. I'm sure they can make something better than this, although it is not bad at all.

This Norwegian band “Last To Remain” delivers a very kick-ass hardcore demo! Hardcore has never been my strongest side, but here I can hear a nine tracks demo with quality. The sound is very similar to older Sepultura, trash metal with full elements of hardcore. This could easily have been a full-length album; the sound is so intense and has a great punch. The vocal are a little too high in the setting but raw.
The songs such “Suffocate On Your Lies”, “Still Standing Strong” and “End Of The Rope, are few of many good songs on this demo. I recommend the viewers to check out this release, this is pure energy. Keep up the excellent work you guys.

Straightforward old-school hard core. Shouting vocals and trademark aggressive offbeat verses alternating between in-your-face grooves. What can I say; it`s a bulletproof formula that never seems to grow obsolete.
Qualified demo material.

Last To Remain is playing metal similar to band labelled as trash metal. Cool riffs and metal in general except from one thing, I think maybe it’s just the way it ended up in the final mix. Like the vocal do not fit in with the rest of the instruments, to bad because this is really not bad metal. I would recommended Last To Remain – First Mission to people who identify them self with bands like Machine Head, Slayer and Crowbar if the vocal had sounded a bit better on this demo. Unfortunately it doesn’t.
