The use of different vocal expressions is cool and it serves the music right. Plus the music has got drive and that’s important or else it tends to get boring. Forbidden Forest’s demo got four, somewhat different, songs and shows what kind of potential the band has got. The members have got experience in the metal genre and it shows on this demo. They know their shit. I specially liked Call of the Wild. Looking forward to see what comes next from these guys, meanwhile bang your head to their demo. Biatch!!!!

Forbidden Forest - Enter
EP
Just to place myself in the genre, I’m not into metal/black metal, but when I first heard the EP I was surpriced. Track two, my favourite on the EP, is a blend of Metallicas (St.Anger), and more melodic styled metal/rock not featured in the “black” genre. The lack of growling in track one made me experience the musicality the way I should, an 80’s freak J
I am afraid that Forbidden Forest places them selves in two categories, first the melodic one, that I’ll guess will lock out the diehard black fans, and then we have the black fans who’ll love rest of the EP. Mmmmm, BUT my advice is to check out the band, give them a change, listen to the great musicians they are, whatever what genre you belong to, I’ll bet you’ll get into it well.
Track one, Preludium in fidem is a must to listen to, even for me, a pop/rock fan can enjoy that one……get it while you can.
Track four, Call of the wild has been released as a video online, check it out……great tune, kind of modest videoproduction, but still….Norwegian metal….for the European market.
Hopefully Forbidden Forest will release a full album soon, my thoughts is that a well produced album will give them the respect they earn in their hunting for an audience to be.
