The combination female & Growl vocals can often become boring. It exist alot of bands from the 90`s who did the same thing. "Slug Syndicate avoid all klisje and they do something that sounds interesting.
Randi's way to perform on a balaneced way is exiting. often we get high pitch and screaming vocal, but her we get singing more like Christina from "Lacuna Coil" & Anneke from "The Gathering".Without doubt this is the strongest side of the band compared to other band in the same genre. If i shall point at something here, personal i would liked more aggresiv vocal from Mariuuz. He reminds me of Max Cavalera from ”Chaos A.D.”, wuthout the little extra. The song ”The Bleeding” had been better with more aggresiv vocal like Glenn Benton or Shaggrath. I didn't get the real angry feeling when listen to it.
This is a band for those who like hard and differen metal.

This is a short single with only two metal core songs. A music genre I honestly have no serious relationship to, only been listening to a little hardcore. But it kind of interested me with the idea of joining a singing female voice and a more “macho” male voice. The recording is tight. At first I thought the drummer was using triggers, and I’m still in doubt.
What really annoys me while listen to this cd is that Randi, the female singer, often comes out of tune. This completely destroys my interest for this band. But I really like the male vocal. Kind of reminds me of Hatebreed and Soulfly, but without the same anger. Eventually the songs become a little boring and I don’t feel the power and anger that this music really should contain. But they have great potential.

This is a band I know. Slug Syndicate is a band that is difficult to put under just one category. They play everything from Nu-Metal to Death Metal, with the combination of female vocal to hardcore/Growling vocal. They deliver two very good songs on this demo. The first song “Poison Bitch” is full of melodic parts mixed with punch and kick-ass metal riffs. The second track “The Bleeding” has more fundamental death-metal riffs with tuff drumming, on top of it melodic and moody female voice.
The production is high quality.
Slug Syndicate is a band I’ll follow in the nearest future.
